Love is the only currency that humanity has that doesn’t actually cost anything. We have a surplus of love inside of all of us that we are withholding from others. We guard it as if it is the last ounce of love left on the planet, that if we give it away, surely it will be lost and never returned to us.
When we withhold our love we guarantee that it cannot ever be returned. We guarantee that no meaningful connections can be made. We lock ourselves up inside of these structures of our minds that we have falsely created, our view of the world, largely with our eyelids squeezed shut, we freeze. Someone extends a hand and we look at it with skepticism. We sneer at the idea that sometimes, we CAN’T do it all alone, and that we need each other to survive.
Scot, Phil and I met with the board of the YMCA yesterday and Life Art got approved to do two murals! One Pacific Northwest themed nature mural on a 9ftx40ft shipping container in the playground area and the other an ocean theme on one of the walls near the pool. I don’t yet know the dates of when we will begin painting, but I am very excited about it! I’m so happy to be working with this program. I can’t wait to tell the kids :)
